Scamacca is keen to return to Italy after just one season in England and his preference is to join Roma this summer.

The Giallorossi have held talks with West Ham for the Italy international but the two clubs are yet to see eye to eye over the structure of a deal.

The stalling of negotiations between the two clubs has opened up the race for other clubs to try and sign Scamacca.

And according to Italian daily La Repubblica (via LaRoma24), AC Milan are plotting to get into the mix for the Italy striker soon.

The Rossoneri are in the market for a forward and have been studying the profiles of several players.

AC Milan are now set to launch their pursuit of Scamacca in the coming days with a view to taking him to the San Siro.

Ante Rebic’s potential departure will free up funds for AC Milan to table a bid for the striker this summer.

Roma are not worried about other clubs getting into the mix but will have to light a fire under their pursuit of the striker soon.

Even last season’s Champions League finalist, Inter Milan, are plotting to snap up Scamacca this summer.
