Lo Celso, 27, spent last season on loan at Villarreal and witnessed a decent La Liga campaign despite a significant layoff due to injury.

The Argentine has been subject to interest from other clubs in the ongoing transfer window, with Real Betis and Napoli having a keen eye on him.

The midfielder has still two years remaining on his contract with Spurs and it has been claimed in some quarters that he will not exert himself to force a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But according to Italian outfit Calciomercato.com, Lo Celso wants to leave the Lilywhites amid suggestions that Napoli want to bring the 27-year-old on loan ahead of next season’s campaign.

If Lo Celso does want to move on from Tottenham this summer then it could well boost Napoli’s hopes of landing him.

The Serie A champions are planning to strengthen their midfield ranks this summer and their coach Rudi Garcia thinks that Lo Celso fits the bill.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is also an admirer of the Argentine and he has revealed that he enjoys working with the midfielder.

Now it remains to be seen whether Lo Celso will stay put at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium beyond the summer.
