Garcia, 25, has been plying his trade for AEK Athens since 2020 and has established himself as an attacking cornerstone at the club.

He has been subject to interest from Celtic amid the Scottish giants’ efforts to bolster their forward stocks.

Keen on maintaining their domestic hegemony next season, Brendan Rodgers’ side are also eager to make an impact on their Champions League campaign.

The Parkhead outfit have already added to their forward line this summer in the shape of Marco Tilio and Hyun-jun Yang.

And now according to Greek outlet Sportime, AEK Athens and Garcia are close to agreeing on a new deal which is likely to tie the forward down at the Greek side until 2026 or 2027.

It is also suggested that in addition to doubling Garcia’s wages, the Athens outfit have put bonuses in the potential contract renewal.

As such, Garcia looks unlikely to be on the move during this summer’s transfer window.
