Flint started last season as a starter in the Stoke City side but quickly lost favour and joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan in the winter window.

He made 18 appearances in League One and played a big role in getting them promoted to the Championship.

The veteran defender was released by Stoke in the summer once his contract expired and has been on the radar of QPR in the ongoing transfer window.

But it has been claimed that the defender is set to move to Mansfield Town on a free transfer.

The 34-year-old centre-back has suitors in the Championship and he has the option to play in the second tier of English football.

However, Flint is claimed to have decided to drop down the football pyramid and move to League Two.

Negotiations are under way and Mansfield Town are on the cusp of signing the vastly experienced centre-back this summer.
