Goal-getter Rhodes is not in Neil Warnock’s plans at the Terriers and the veteran manager is keen to move him on before the transfer window closes.

The striker’s exit would take his wages off the payroll at Huddersfield and that could potentially open the door for Warnock to use them elsewhere.

Blackpool are hoping to be Rhodes’ new home and they have a deal in place with Huddersfield.

Now they will talk terms with the striker and hope to convince him to make the move to the seaside.

Rhodes, 33, has only had an outing for Huddersfield in the EFL Cup this season and faces limited playing time if he remains at the club.

He grabbed five goals in 34 outings in the Championship last term and soon slipped out of favour under Warnock towards the end of the campaign.

Joining Blackpool would mean dropping into League One, but Rhodes has scored 70 goals in the third tier.
