Scarlett, 19, came through the youth set-up at the Lilywhites and he spent last season on loan at Portsmouth in League One.

The attacker is rated highly at the north London outfit and Spurs want to see him continue to develop going forward.

He fared well in  Tottenham’s EFL Cup clash against Fulham, but could be shipped out on loan this summer.

Tottenham are currently heavily linked with a move for Nottingham Forest’s versatile attacker Brennan Johnson.

And now it is suggested that Scarlett will head out on loan if Spurs finally capture an attacker in the final stretch of the transfer window.

Scarlett’s availability on loan could tempt several other sides to move to bring the talented player to their fold.

And it remains to be seen how his future will be shaped in the coming days, with Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou also set to hold talks with the starlet.
