Stoke want to do business before the transfer window closes and have cash to splash on new faces.

Manager Alex Neil is  looking to do everything in his power to strengthen his squad ahead of Friday’s deadline day.

In that attempt, the forward line is one area that has been identified as needing reinforcements and the West Brom striker has been zeroed in on.

In spite of not having played all four of the Baggies’ league games, Thomas-Asante has already found the back of the net twice in three matches, and is the subject of attention from the Potters.

West Brom have already rejected an initial offer of £2m for the player and are fighting to keep him beyond Friday.

However, their resolve is expected to be tested yet again as Stoke are preparing yet another offer in the region of £2.5m.

The sum could make West Brom consider their position on Thomas-Asante, with Stoke showing no sign of giving up.
