Knight is able to operate in a variety of positions on the pitch and the R’s boss believes he could use him at Loftus Road.
The Championship outfit were keen on signing Peterborough’s Knight earlier this summer and made moves to do so.
However, a £300,000 deal for Knight between both clubs collapsed this month.
But it has been claimed that QPR could revisit their interest in the Posh man to sign him before the transfer deadline.
Knight is down the pecking order in Darren Ferguson’s squad and has featured only 42 minutes in the league for Peterborough in the ongoing season.
Now it remains to be seen whether QPR will make a concrete offer to sign Knight from the Posh before the end of the window.
