Hayden and Hendrick are not in the plans of Magpies boss Eddie Howe this season.
And the Premier League side are keen on offloading the duo before the transfer window slams shut.
Hendrick is a transfer target for Aberdeen as Dons boss Barry Robson is an admirer of the midfielder.
However, Sheffield Wednesday seem to be Hendrick’s likely destination now, with the Owls eager to bolster their midfield ranks further.
Xisco Munoz’s side want to bring in both Hayden and Hendrick on a temporary basis and they have submitted loan offers for both.
But it is now suggested that the Championship side have yet to wrap up any deal for their midfield targets.
Both Hayden and Hendrick are seeking regular playing time and their potential switch to Munoz’s side could ensure they receive it.
Now it remains to be seen how quickly Sheffield Wednesday will be able to wrap up deals for the duo.
