Lloris has dropped down the pecking order at Spurs this season and has been trying to secure a move away from the club all summer.

He was heavily linked with a move to Lazio last month but he rejected the move as he does not want to be a number 2 at another club.

There were claims earlier today that he rejected a move to Newcastle, who tried to sign him on the final day of the transfer window.

However, it has been claimed that Newcastle are not interested in getting their hands on the former Spurs captain.

Newcastle have made no attempt to try and agree on a deal to sign the former France goalkeeper today.

The Magpies are happy with their goalkeeping options and Lloris never popped up on their radar this summer.

As things stand, Newcastle will not be signing another player before the transfer window closes tonight.
