Saints suffered the drop from the Premier League last season and Bella-Kotchap is one of many players to have left the Championship side this summer.
The German central defender joined Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven on a season-long loan and he was handed his debut for the Dutch side on Saturday in their 4-0 win against NEC.
PSV will visit the Gunners in their Champions League tie on Wednesday; Bella-Kotchap provided an assist against them last term in Saints’ 3-3 draw at the Emirates.
The 21-year-old Germany international insisted that the Dutch side have the quality to get a result against the Gunners even though he recognises the Premier League side as a top team.
“They obviously have a lot of quality, Arsenal is not a top team in the Premier League for nothing”, Bella-Kotchap was quoted as saying by Dutch magazine Voetbal International.
“But if we perform to the best of our ability, we can really do something there too.”
Now it remains to be seen if the Southampton loan star will be starting against Mikel Arteta’s men on Wednesday.
