The Pole is yet to start a game in the Championship this season but played more than an hour in Norwich’s 2-1 EFL Cup defeat at Fulham on Wednesday night.

Placheta looked good despite his side’s defeat and showed some of the talent that brought him to Norwich in 2020.

He has started all of Norwich’s three EFL Cup games but has struggled to break into the eleven for Championship games.

Kenton admitted that the Pole has impressed every time he has watched him but indicated that the winger lacks consistency in his game.

He conceded that it is frustrating to see a player of his ability not making the most of his talent and feels Placheta needs to have more faith in himself and make more of an impact.

The former Canaries star said on BBC Radio Norfolk: “Every time I have seen him, he has actually done well.

“It must be frustrating when fans actually see someone like that who has got the raw attributes to give defenders a real problem.

“But he needs to do it on a regular basis; he needs to do it week-in-week-out, he needs to be getting assists, he needs to be getting goals but when he is on his game, he causes defenders a lot of problems.

“These are Premier League defenders as well, it shows that he can do it.

“He needs to have a little more confidence in his own ability.”

It remains to be seen whether the Pole gets a start when Norwich take on Birmingham City at Carrow Road on Saturday.
