The 26-year-old Leeds star was the centre of attention for several clubs in the summer transfer window and Aston Villa and Everton rivalled each other for Harrison’s signature.

Harrison came close to joining the Midlands outfit this summer, but a move failed to materialise before he joined Everton on a season-long loan.

The Leeds loanee stated that there is a long story behind why the move to Aston Villa did not happen and added that the situation was complicated.

Harrison stressed that Everton are a fantastic club with good values and insisted that he is happy to join the Goodison Park outfit.

“There is a long story behind it”, Harrison told the Liverpool Echo.

“I think I have to sit down and explain it properly, I don’t want to say anything out of turn.

“It was a complicated situation and in the end I ended up at Everton and I was happy to go there.

“I saw the values of the club, it’s a fantastic club and I’m surprised that they’ve been in the situation they have over the last couple of years.”

Harrison made his first appearance in Everton colours against Aston Villa on Wednesday and he will ply his trade under Sean Dyche this season.
