Pompey have made a great start to their League One campaign as they are sitting at the top of the league table with 28 points.

They are still unbeaten in the league and they defeated Port Vale on Saturday 2-0, with Bishop scoring twice.

Mousinho stressed that he is not worried about Bishop’s goalscoring as the forward gets himself in good positions and has already registered eight goals in 12 league matches this term.

Performance on the pitch matters most for the Pompey boss as he hailed the 26-year-old’s brilliance to lead the side’s frontline.

“It isn’t about goals for us”, Mousinho told The News.

“One of the things I have always said about Colby is it’s not about the goals.

“I know they’ll come because he puts himself in good positions.

“But it’s about performance, he leads the line brilliantly well, on the ball and off the ball.”

Bishop will be looking to continue his fine form in front of goal when the League One side host Gillingham in the Football League Trophy on Tuesday.
