The League One side hosted Wolves’ Under-21 team on Tuesday and beat them by a 2-0 scoreline in the EFL Trophy.

Kennedy admitted that his side were wasteful in the first half however they scored in the 19th minute to take the lead.

They scored their second goal of the match in the injury time of the second half but he also gave credit to the opposition’s custodian for his second-half performance.

“Yes he [Young] is a very talented boy and Scott Fry always speaks really highly of him”, Kennedy told the Imps media about the 21-year-old Wolves academy shot-stopper.

“And what he lacks in height, he makes up for in power and agility.

“And I thought in the first half we were wasteful and I thought in the second half, he was outstanding in goal.

“Really huge credit to him.”

Young will be looking to keep his performances consistently good with the youth team to grab Gary O’Neil’s attention soon.
