Evans was left fuming on Tuesday night after the officials did not spot an offside and a handball ahead of Chris Martin’s equaliser in their 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers.

The point left Stevenage sitting just outside the playoff spots in the League One table and despite the result, Evans continues to be lauded for his work with the newly promoted club.

The Stevenage boss has been left livid by the officiating though and he admitted that he is worried about what kind of referee his side will get this Saturday against Derby.

He is concerned that another controversial referee could grab headlines and he will be left moaning after the game at the Lamex Stadium this weekend.

Evans said on Stevenage’s media: “I am frightened of what happens against Derby on Saturday.

“I am afraid who they give us. Will it be another big boy?

“Let’s say the big boy is controversial and we are moaning again and it sounds like we are always moaning.”

Stevenage have won six of their 15 League One games and are sitting seventh in the league table at the moment.
