McCausland has turned out for Rangers B side in the Europa Conference League, while he has also been involved with the Rangers senior team.

Clement brought the winger on off the bench in Rangers’ 4-0 win against Hibernian at the weekend, but his long term future is under the scanner.

McCausland is out of contract at Rangers in the summer and though Clement considers him part of his plans, the Gers have not yet offered him a new deal.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 international is being tracked by several clubs in England, who have noted his potential.

Rangers may need to move quickly to lock down McCausland and see off interest in him.

The Gers snapped the 20-year-old up from Linfield in 2019 and have been pleased with his development and progress.

Clement’s men are in action on Thursday in the Europa League when they take on Czech giants Sparta Prague.

Sparta Prague currently sit top of the Czech top flight and have won ten of their 12 league games, drawing the other two.
