Villa are sitting fifth in the Premier League standings after making an excellent start to the season.
They have won seven of their opening ten Premier League games and have emerged as firm contenders to qualify for the Champions League.
Emery changed Aston Villa’s fortunes when he took charge of the team in the middle of last season and he has tried to take the team to the next level in the ongoing campaign.
Keys pointed out that the Spaniard’s record at Villa can be compared with some of the best managers who have worked in the Premier League.
He pointed to a key statistic in terms of average points per game and believes that points to exciting times for Villa.
Keys wrote on his blog: “Emery has been in charge of 35 league games at Villa and celebrated a full year in charge at the weekend.
“He’s taken an average of two points per game from those 35 matches.
“The only other Premier League managers to have done that are Fergie, Mourinho [twice] Ancelotti, Mancini, Guardiola, Pellegrini and Klopp.
“They all went on to deliver titles of course.
“These are exciting times for Villa.”
Aston Villa’s next game is a trip to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest next Sunday in the Premier League.
