Firpo, 27, has been enduring a knee injury for a long period and he has yet to make an appearance for the Whites this term.
The full-back has so far featured in 43 league games for Leeds since his permanent switch to Elland Road from Spanish giants Barcelona.
Firpo has struggled to win over the Leeds fans and it remains to be seen what kind of impact he can have in the Championship this season.
Farke explained the defender is making progress in his recovery from injury and could well be called up to matchday squads, with the situation around him good news.
“Junior Firpo after a long-term injury, has been in team training for ten days”, Farke said at a press conference.
“This week was and is also good for him because it is the first proper training week because it was travelling and playing games, and difficult for a player who comes back from a long term injury.
“Each and every session is good for him and he is edging closer, no setback in the last days. Definitely good news. He is available if we call him up for the game-day squads.
“Progress with him, he is on the right path.“
Leeds are set to take on Leicester City on Friday in a mouth-watering clash, however, the jury is still out on whether Firpo will be selected for the matchday squad.
And it also remains to be seen whether they will be able to put a brake on the Foxes’ juggernaut in the Championship.
