Norwich are in dire straits at the moment, losing four of their last five Championship games this season.

David Wagner is under pressure and the Canaries have been gradually sliding down the league table in the second tier of English football.

However, Sara has been a real bright spark in the middle of the park for Norwich amidst the struggles and he has scored five times and has five assists to his name this season.

Clarke stressed that he is a real player and will look brilliant in a side that are functioning better.

He is a big fan of his ability to work hard despite having the flair and a brilliant left foot, which has already produced some great goals and assists this season.

Clarke said on the What The EFL Podcast: “I want to focus on a positive, maybe this positive at Carrow Road at the moment apart from Jonathan Rowe, it’s Gabriel Sara.

“I think he is a real player; I do.

“I think in the right team he can be a really special talent.

“He has got a little bit of flair about him, he works hard, he gets stuck into tackles and he has got an unbelievable left foot, it’s just magnificent.

“We saw that at St. Mary’s if you remember; he spanked a rocket into the top corner very early on in the season.

“He has got five assists; I think three of those assists were left-footed set-pieces – absolutely on the money and some of the goals he has scored have been classy as well.”

Sara has started all of Norwich’s 15 Championship games and has been trying to inspire his side to get out of their current rut.
