The Rams are set to host Barnsley, who are just three points clear of them in the League One table, at Pride Park this weekend.

Derby are on a seven-game unbeaten run at home after beginning the season with three straight defeats at Pride Park.

Wildsmith, who has kept five clean sheets out of the last seven games, believes that Derby have been a dominant side at Pride Park this season, creating a lot of goalscoring opportunities.

He revealed that after the initial three defeats at home, despite being the dominant side, Derby took the shackles off to turn around their home form.

“I think we just took the shackles off a little bit”, Wildsmith told Rams TV.

“We sort of thought we are at home, we have dominated most games now at home in terms of possession and creating chances and it was just about sort of putting them away.

“We saw last night, even though it was in the EFL Trophy, that it was an opportunity for us to get a real good rhythm and a feel down at Pride Park and score goals.”

Derby have a chance on Saturday to extend their unbeaten run at home to eight games and three points against Barnsley would help them climb up the table.
