Ipswich are 12 games unbeaten in the Championship and are set to travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom on Saturday.

The Tractor Boys are the top scoring side in the Championship with 36 goals so far, but their recent defensive form has been concerning as they have conceded eleven goals in the last five games.

Clarke pointed out that Ipswich’s centre-backs’ are sluggish and pointed out their poor defensive record of conceding two goals in five of the last six league games.

The former Premier League star also warned Ipswich’s players that West Brom forward Thomas-Asante, who has scored twice in the Baggies’ last four games, can create problems for Kieran McKenna’s centre-backs with his speed.

“I do think Ipswich have vulnerabilities”, Clarke said on the What the EFL podcast.

“I mean, they have conceded two goals out of five of their last six games, but have not lost any of them, which is madness really.

“Their centre-backs are not quick really.

“There is a little sluggishness there and I do feel that maybe Thomas-Asante could cause a few problems with his speed inside the final third.”

West Bromwich Albion have only lost one game at the Hawthorns this season and Ipswich have a tough task on their hands to continue their unbeaten run.
