After a defeat against West Bromwich Albion, Ipswich managed to bounce back with a 3-1 win over Millwall at Portman Road on Wednesday.

Burns, who started his 13th game in the league this season, put in a cross in the fifth minute of the game, which Hirst knocked down for Conor Chaplin to open the scoring in their 3-1 win.

McKenna admitted that the cross by the right-winger was an excellent one and believes that Burns started the game really well for Ipswich.

The Tractor Boys boss also added that his team could do more with Burns’ crosses with a big centre-forward like Hirst present in the team who is good at the back post as well.

When asked about the Burns’ cross for Chaplin’s goal, McKenna told Ipswich’s media: “Yes, a really good cross.

“Wes [Burns] started the game really well and really good from Hirsty as well.

“We have not crossed too many like that but we can use it a little bit more because George [Hirst] is obviously very tall, but he is also good at the back post and he is great at bringing other people into the play and it is a lovely knockdown for Conor [Chaplin].”

Ipswich are second in the league table and with the win over Millwall, they have reduced the points gap with Leicester City to one point.
