The 21-year-old centre-back impressed with his performances for Corinthians this season and Nottingham Forest brought in Murillo in the summer transfer window to strengthen their backline.

Nottingham Forest are 15th in the league table with 13 points and Murillo has started the last seven league games while helping them keep two clean sheets.

Murillo stated that he wants to repay Steve Cooper for keeping faith in him by performing on the pitch.

The Nottingham Forest star also claimed that the Premier League outfit have so much quality in their side that when they click, they can compete for a place in Europe.

“The coach has shown faith in me and I want to repay him with my personality on the pitch”, Murillo told the Daily Telegraph.

“We have a quality team that can achieve a lot.

“It’s still very early in the season and if we click, and stay united, we can even compete for European competition.”

Nottingham Forest are winless in their last two games and it remains to be seen whether Murillo will be able to inspire his team to a win at the weekend against strugglers Everton.
