Ipswich are sitting second in the Championship standings and are just a point behind league leaders Leicester City.
Kieran McKenna’s side are the entertainers of the division this season, scoring 41 goals in the opening 19 Championship games of the campaign.
Defensively they have been suspect but at the other end, the Tractor Boys have been prolific and have continued to entertain the crowds.
Parkin stressed that Ipswich are more than just entertaining and insisted that they are probably the most impressive Championship team he has watched in recent years.
He lavished praise on the way they have been coached by McKenna and pointed out that teams cannot seem to work them out despite Ipswich playing the same way in most games.
The former Ipswich star said on the What The EFL Podcast: “It’s more than that, it’s better than that.
“I was there last Wednesday and I can’t remember being that excited and impressed with a Championship team in recent years, honestly.
“The 45 minutes I witness against Millwall, my goodness me!
“It’s just the way they are coached, the cohesion, the patterns – it’s the same week after week but teams just can’t live with them.”
Ipswich have been brilliant at home this season, winning nine of their ten games at Portman Road.
