The 27-year-old centre forward was expected to be a key man in Southampton’s bid to return to the top flight and scored in the first three Championship games.

However, Adam Armstrong’s form in front of goal has limited Adams’ game time for the Saints this season, as he has started only seven games out of 19.

Bazunu stated that Adams is an excellent player and is confident that if given more opportunities, he will score more goals.

The Southampton goalkeeper also stated that the Scottish international provides a different perspective with his physicality up front and pointed out that Adams’ movements are brilliant in the opposition box.

“Che’s a terrific player”, Baznu told the Daily Echo.

“He has got so many good qualities.

I have no doubt that if he gets more game time, he’ll score goals and offer top performances.

“He gives us a different perspective in terms of his physical stature.

“He’s able to hold the ball up for us really well.

“He’s able to make runs in behind and his movement in the box is brilliant.

“I have no doubt he’ll have more goals for us this season.”

Adams might get opportunities in the upcoming games with Ross Stewart and Kamaldeen Sulemana being injured.
