A 5-0 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night has left Cooper hanging by a thread at Nottingham Forest.

Forest are sitting 16th in the Premier League table and have lost their last four games on the trot in the league.

The Nottingham Forest board are worried about getting dragged into the relegation battle and are running out of patience with their Welsh manager.

But it has been claimed that the 43-year-old will not be sacked ahead of Nottingham Forest’s trip to Wolves on Saturday.

He is set to get at least one more game to prove himself and save his neck from the chop.

However, a bad result at Molineux this week could see the axe falling on Cooper’s time at Nottingham Forest.

The Welshman has credit with the club because he got them promoted to the Championship and also helped them survive their first season back in the Premier League.

Wolves head into the clash on the back of a 1-0 home win over strugglers Burnley.
