Lenglet joined Aston Villa on loan from Barcelona in the summer, but he has struggled for minutes at Villa Park.

He has only featured in the Europa Conference League and is still waiting to play a minute of football in the Premier League.

Barcelona are prepared to cut short his stay at Aston Villa in January if they can find another club for the Frenchman for the second half of the season.

AC Milan have been keeping an eye on Lenglet and according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, they have now made an enquiry with Barcelona.

The Serie A giants are in contact with Barcelona to request the conditions of a potential loan deal.

AC Milan are keen on the centre-back but there are a few hurdles they need to overcome before agreeing on a deal.

Lenglet is on a €6m per year contract, which means AC Milan would have to pay €3m in wages until the end of the season.

The Rossoneri do not want to shell out so much money in wages on a player for half a season.

AC Milan would like Barcelona to pay a certain part of Lenglet’s wages if they are to sign him on loan in January.
