Ipswich earned promotion to the Championship last season and the Tractor Boys have turned some heads with their performances.

McKenna’s side are currently second in the league table and they are set to face their rivals Norwich at Portman Road in East Anglian derby at the weekend.

Former Norwich star Roberts will be looking for the Canaries to come out on top and believes that Ipswich do not have the strength in depth of other top Championship teams.

He also pointed out that as the season progresses, Ipswich might encounter several injuries and questioned how McKenna’s side will cope when his key players are injured.

“Ipswich didn’t even win League One, that honour went to Plymouth, so Town have taken to life in the Championship like ducks to water”, Roberts wrote in his Norwich Evening News column.

“But one thing that would concern me is I don’t think they’ve got the strength in depth that some of the other teams have got.

“Once they start picking up a couple of injuries to key players… what happens if Nathan Broadhead gets injured, what happens if Conor Chaplin gets injured? Who comes in to take their place?

Ipswich have won four matches in a row in the Championship and they will be determined to register a victory over Norwich at the weekend, in what is sure to be a feisty encounter.
