Istanbul Basaksehir have decided to part ways with Nottingham Forest loanee Emmanuel Dennis in January, it has been claimed in Turkey.

The Turkish club added the out-of-favour Nigerian international to their ranks on the final day of the Turkish transfer window late last summer.

He has since featured in eight league games for Basaksehir, though he has never lasted the full 90 minutes.

He has now missed Basaksehir’s last five matches due to injury and there is no certainty regarding the date of his return.

According to Turkish outlet Sports Digitale, Cagdas Atan’s team have decided to end the player’s loan prematurely and will send Dennis back to Nottingham Forest next month.

Dennis had been deemed surplus to requirements at the City Ground by former manager Steve Cooper, who made a host of signings since taking them to the Premier League.

The attacker was signed from Watford in the summer of 2022 and has so far made 25 appearances for the Tricky Trees making five goal contributions.

It now remains to be seen whether Dennis will have a role to play under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo at Nottingham Forest.
