Swansea City star Jay Fulton has admitted that Southampton are a strong side and admits his team know all about Saints boss Russell Martin.

Following their relegation, Premier League Southampton brought in Martin, who impressed the Saints hierarchy with his work as Swansea boss.

After a shaky start to the season, Southampton are on a 15-match unbeaten run in the league and are currently fourth in the league table with 45 points from 23 games.

Now Martin’s side are set to square off against his former side Swansea on Boxing Day at St. Mary’s and Fulton, who played under Martin for two seasons, admitted that they are in for a tough game against a very strong side on Tuesday.

However, he stressed that the Swansea players know Martin very well and issued a warning to Southampton that they will come to St. Mary’s with the intention of taking three points.

“I think the three teams who came down from the Premier League last season are really strong”, Fulton told Swansea City’s official site.

“We obviously know the Southampton manager.

“It’ll be a tough game, but on the back of the three points on Friday we’ll be looking to take the confidence into that game.”

Southampton are unbeaten in their last four meetings with the Swans and on Boxing Day, Martin will be looking to grab another three points.
