Matt Piper has warned Leicester City that Ipswich Town will come out hard to give a response against the Foxes following their bad defeat at Leeds United.

Ipswich suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Leeds at Elland Road in their last outing.

Kieran McKenna’s team are still second in the Championship standings and it was only their third defeat of the season.

However, Ipswich have another big game on Boxing Day when they will host table-toppers Leicester at Portman Road.

Leicester have a six-point lead over Ipswich but Piper stressed that the Foxes are going to find a team who will be looking to give a response to their performance at Leeds.

The former Leicester star is certain that the Portman Road faithful are going to create a vibrant atmosphere and the Ipswich players are going to come hard at the Foxes.

Piper said on the BBC’s When You’re Smiling Podcast: “It’s going to be difficult.

“They are not going to want to lose two on the bounce after the start to the season they have had.

“They got absolutely hammered by Leeds quite convincingly, they are not going to back that up with another loss especially at home and on Boxing Day.

“The crowd will be raucous; they are going to come out of the traps and Ipswich are good at home.”

Ipswich are without a win in their last two games and will hope to get back to winning ways today as they look to maintain a lead over Leeds.
