Arsenal and Chelsea target Viktor Gyokeres has claimed that he is not even thinking about leaving Sporting Lisbon at the moment and wants to win the league in Portugal.

The Swede joined Sporting Lisbon from Coventry City last summer and has turned out to be a massive success in Portugal.

He has scored 17 times and laid on eight assists in 20 appearances in all competitions this season and is now attracting interest from the Premier League.

Arsenal and Chelsea are believed to be interested in taking the Swede back to England but this time to the top tier of English football in the January transfer window.

However, Gyokeres claimed that he is very happy at Sporting Lisbon and wants to stay and help them win the league in Portugal.

He also stressed that he has only been at Sporting Lisbon for six months and has no plans to leave the club in the middle of the season.

The striker told Swedish daily Aftonbladet: “I am enjoying myself immensely here and want to stay and win the league.

“That’s the goal.

“I’ve only been here for almost six months so it’s very early.

“It’s too early to think about anything else.

“We are in the middle of the season, have progressed to the playoffs in the Europa League and we are leading the league.

So, I am not focusing on anything else.

“Right now, everything feels very exciting with Sporting and I have no thoughts of leaving.”

Sporting Lisbon are also insistent that any club wanting to sign the forward will have to pay his €100m buyout clause.
