Tottenham Hotspur are set to present a proposal to Ajax to snap up promising midfielder Stanis Idumbo Muzambo, who is set to soon depart the Dutch giants, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs are expected to do business in the January transfer window and boss Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that signing a centre-back is his priority.

The club have continued to be linked with players in a number of positions across the pitch though and are alive to opportunities to add quality.

Muzambo is one such opportunity as his contract with Ajax is set to run out in the summer and he has turned down the chance to sign a new one.

The teenage Belgian midfielder will leave Amsterdam either in January or in the summer as a free agent.

And Tottenham are set to make a proposal to snap him up from Ajax.

Spurs are not the only side who will do so however as Spanish giants Sevilla are also set to try their luck.

Muzambo, 18, turns out for Ajax’s Jong Ajax side, who compete in the Dutch second tier.

His debut for Jong Ajax came in January this year and the attack-minded midfielder has been capped by Belgium through to Under-19 level.
