Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest linked Marvin Ducksch is not interested in a move away from Werder Bremen in the January transfer window.

The 29-year-old forward has been in good touch this season, scoring seven times in 16 Bundesliga appearances.

His performances earned him a call-up to the Germany squad in November and he has two international caps to his name.

A move to the Premier League has been mooted in January with Nottingham Forest and Newcastle believed to be interested in signing him.

But according to German outlet DeichStube, the forward is not considering leaving Werder Bremen in the January transfer window.

Ducksch does not want to do anything to jeopardise his spot in the Germany squad ahead of next summer’s European Championship.

He is keen to spend the rest of the season in Germany and secure a squad spot for the next big international tournament.

The forward’s contract has a release clause less than the €10m figure but it will only come into effect next summer.

For now, it seems unlikely that Ducksch will be moving from Werder Bremen in the winter window, meaning Newcastle and Nottingham Forest will have to look elsewhere.
