Leeds United are set to jostle with Southampton for the signature of Bournemouth winger David Brooks in the January transfer window, according to talkSPORT.

Daniel Farke’s side are sitting fourth in the Championship table, just below Southampton who are third in the standings.

The two sides are chasing promotion back to the Premier League and do not want to spend more than a season in the Championship after getting relegated last term.

And it has been claimed that the two sides are set to tussle for the same player in the winter transfer window.

Brooks is a player both Leeds and Southampton admire and the two clubs are pushing to sign him in January.

The Welshman has been a bit part player at Bournemouth under Andoni Iraola this season and have made just two Premier League starts.

The winger still has more than two-and-a-half years left on his contract at Dean Court but is keen to play more football in the latter half of the season.

Bournemouth could be open to loan offers for Brooks and Leeds and Southampton are set to chase his signature in January.
