The agent of Tottenham Hotspur target Radu Dragusin has admitted that if his client is to leave Genoa then he would like it to be for a top six Premier League side.

Dragusin is a wanted man as the January transfer window looms and Genoa, despite not wanting to sell, could lose him.

Tottenham are hugely keen on the centre-back and have been tipped to make contact with Genoa over a deal very soon.

Other clubs are also keen on the defender and although Dragusin’s agent admits the plan has not been to leave Genoa mid-season, it could change.

Florin Manea is clear that the chance to move to a top six club in the Premier League or to AC Milan could change the picture, especially with the level of offers being spoken about.

If that does not happen though, Dragusin stands ready to sign a new deal with Genoa, Manea insists.

“We agree to evaluate first what comes in January, but if he has to leave Genoa, he would like to do so for the top five or six of the Premier League or for teams like Milan”, Manea told Italian broadcaster Sportitalia.

“Without the right offer we will renew.

“His way of working is impressive and Juventus were important for his growth in this, having trained with champions of the calibre of Chiellini and Ronaldo.

“We said we will talk after the market. We don’t want to leave either, we start from this assumption.

“Then if an important club come along that can give him a jump in his career, it is normal that I evaluate this.

“The same goes for Genoa”, Manea explained, “should a significant sum arrive, as we read there is talk of possible offers of €30m.”

Manea indicated that even if Dragusin turns down an offer, there may be another chance to leave Genoa in the future.

“In life, some trains arrive once or twice, but we are in no hurry to leave; many teams have called and are interested.

“If something will come out of these [calls], good, otherwise we are happy here and after the market we will surely find an agreement to renew.”

Tottenham have made landing a new centre-back a priority for the January transfer window and Dragusin could now be their primary defensive target.
