Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho has asked for his loan at RB Leipzig to be terminated and the German side have now agreed.

RB Leipzig were not looking to let Carvalho go despite talk that the midfielder and Liverpool were unhappy with his situation.

Carvalho, 21, played just 158 minutes for RB Leipzig in the first half of the Bundesliga season, well short of what he was hoping for.

The loan could only be ended by RB Leipzig though and now, according to Sky Deutschland, the German side have relented.

Carvalho’s entourage made several representations to the Bundesliga side in recent days and told them that the Liverpool man did not wish to stay.

The arguments convinced RB Leipzig, who have now ended his loan from Liverpool.

It is not yet clear whether the Bundesliga club will now look to replace Carvalho in the winter transfer window.

Liverpool could also look at a potential new loan for the midfielder for the second half of the season as they bid to find him game time.
