Hull City have verbally agreed a loan deal with Burnley for Southampton target Manuel Benson, but the player is considering his options, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

Benson shone in the Championship for Burnley last season as the Clarets dominated the division and won the title in style.

He has found the going tougher in the Premier League though, with Vincent Kompany regularly preferring other options, and could head elsewhere this month.

Benson’s stock remains high, not least in the Championship, where Southampton would like to snap him up; Saints are claimed to be an option for the Belgian, along with Hull City.

Hull City have verbally agreed a loan deal with Burnley for Benson.

The Tigers will hope to be able to tempt the winger to join, but face substantial competition and the Burnley man is thinking about what to do.

Benson is likely to put real emphasis on to where he feels he can play regularly and which side suit his style of play the best.

The Burnley winger has made only four appearances in the Premier League for the Clarets this term, along with one outing in the side’s EFL Cup win over Salford City.
