Napoli are hoping that if Tottenham Hotspur sign Radu Dragusin then it will open the door for Eric Dier to join them.

Dier is out of favour at Tottenham and had been expected to leave the north London club last summer, but stayed put.

He is out of contract in the summer and Tottenham could offload him if they can add another centre-back to the squad.

And that could be close to happening at Tottenham are in talks with Genoa to sign Dragusin, a player that Napoli themselves are keen on.

Dragusin favours a switch to Spurs and he is tipped as likely to make it, leaving Napoli looking at other options as they hunt a centre-back.

The Italians have their eyes on Dier and hope, according to Italian outlet Calcio Napoli 24, that if Spurs get Dragusin they will allow him to leave.

Napoli could even look for favourable terms to sign Dier, especially given his contractual situation.

They will face competition for Dier however, with West Ham keeping a close eye on his situation, while he is also an option for Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
