Championship outfit Coventry City are targeting a centre-half and a left-sided wide man in the January transfer window, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Coventry are fighting to get themselves into the promotion mix from the Championship once again this term.

With the January transfer window now open, manager Mark Robins has got the opportunity to flex his muscles and he has identified areas he can strengthen.

Robins wants to beef up his defensive options and is keen for Coventry to put a centre-back at his disposal.

The boss also wants to give himself another option to use on the left flank.

Coventry will be hoping to get their business done quickly as they look to continue their promotion push.

Robins managed to get his side to the Championship playoff final last season where they fell short to Luton Town, losing 6-5 on penalties.

He is now on the lookout to replicate last season’s heroics and is looking in the market to have the best possible options.
