Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has admitted that Spurs must try and utilise every opportunity they have to strengthen the squad in the winter window.

Spurs are dealing with a serious injury crisis in their squad and their fast start to the Premier League has levelled off.

The north London club are still very much in the conversation for a top-four finish and they are looking to add new faces to their squad to further consolidate their position.

Tottenham are in talks with Genoa to sign defender Radu Dragusin but the club are also believed to be looking at players for multiple positions.

However, Postecoglou stressed that he cannot exactly state how many players he will need to sign in January due to the nature of the winter transfer window.

But the Tottenham boss insisted that Spurs must try and make use of any opportunity that comes their way to strengthen the squad this month.

Asked ideally how many players he would like to sign in January, the Spurs boss said in a press conference: “No, it doesn’t work that way. There are a lot of moving parts in a window like this.

“Like I said, January you don’t expect too much in terms of activity but again I’ve said before is that every opportunity we have to strengthen the team, strengthen the squad, we should try and take.

“Depending on sort of the opportunities we have to do that this month, we’ll try and do.”

Tottenham are likely to sign a midfielder as well if Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has interest from Italy, leaves in January.
