Monaco have an obligation to buy West Ham defender Thilo Kehrer if he hits certain easily achievable targets during his loan stay.

Kehrer has fallen down the pecking order at West Ham this season and has been a bit part player at the London Stadium.

The Hammers have been keen to move him on this month and he is now close to joining Monaco in the ongoing window.

A deal is in place between the two clubs for an initial loan deal worth €500,000 that would see the defender move to the Principality.

According to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, West Ham have also inserted an obligation to buy in the loan agreement based on Kehrer hitting certain targets.

The goals are said to be easily achievable and West Ham would be due another €11.5m once the deal becomes permanent.

The two clubs are finalising the details of the agreement for the defender to complete the initial loan move.

If everything goes according to plan, the German is expected to undergo a medical with Monaco today.
