Liverpool would be entitled to a healthy percentage of any fee that Al-Ettifaq make from selling Jordan Henderson, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, amid the midfielder’s claimed desire to leave the club.

Henderson swapped the Premier League for the Saudi Pro League in the summer transfer window on a substantial £700,000 per week wages.

However, it is claimed Henderson is now unhappy in Saudi Arabia and is looking for an exit route.

Al-Ettifaq do not want to sell Henderson, but if they do do so, Liverpool will be entitled to a healthy percentage of the fee due to a sell-on clause negotiated when they sold the midfielder.

It is unclear what percentage Liverpool would be entitled to, but it would be another financial bonus for the Reds from Henderson’s exit.

Al-Ettifaq have not been informed yet that Henderson wants to go.

Boss Steven Gerrard is coming under pressure at the Saudi club due to a decline in form.

He has also lost assistant Ian Foster, who has departed Al-Ettifaq to take over at Championship side Plymouth Argyle.
