Timo Werner is on the verge of moving to Tottenham Hotspur and is ready to leave RB Leipzig’s training camp to complete the switch.

The former Chelsea striker has been linked with a move away from Leipzig this month, with back to the Premier League an option.

However, it had seemed that Manchester United would be the most likely destination for the German goal-getter.

That has now changed and, according to Sky Deutschland, Werner is close to joining Tottenham on loan after Spurs made a shock approach.

Tottenham and Leipzig are in the final stages of their negotiations and have several issues to resolve, including an option to buy possibility.

Werner himself though is standing ready to leave Leipzig’s training camp.

The attacker is fully prepared to make the switch to north London and is waiting for the green light to travel to England.

He has found goals difficult to come by at Leipzig this season, with just two goals in eight Bundesliga appearances, but minutes have also been limited.

Other options have regularly been preferred at the German side and Werner will hope to get his career back on track at Tottenham.
