AC Milan are looking to put themselves in pole position to sign Aston Villa target Cyril Ngonge from Hellas Verona.

Ngonge has caught the eye with his performances at Hellas Verona and has been the subject of interest in this month’s window.

Aston Villa have seen a bid for Ngonge rejected, while Fiorentina have also been trying to snap the winger up.

Now AC Milan are in the hunt for the 23-year-old and, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, they are planning to meet with Hellas Verona on Tuesday.

The Rossoneri want to put themselves ahead of the competition for Ngonge and will speak to Hellas Verona to understand what they would need to do to sign the winger.

It is claimed to be unlikely that Hellas Verona will be able to hold on to Ngonge this month.

The Belgian has made 18 appearances in Serie A so far this season, scoring five times and providing two assists.

Ngonge has a deal until 2026 with Hellas Verona, but the club can extend it by a further two years if needed.
