West Brom and Cardiff City are interested in signing forward Umut Nayir from Fenerbahce this month, it has been claimed in Turkey.

Nayir has taken part in the Europa Conference League with the Turkish club this season, though he has failed to add to the scoresheet in the five group stage games he has been involved in.

He was also handed his international debut for Turkey by Vincenzo Montella last year in a Euro 2024 qualifier against Armenia.

With a view to adding both international and European experience to their ranks, both West Brom as well as Cardiff are showing interest in the 30-year-old, according to Turkish outlet Sports Digitale.

The two clubs are vying for promotion at the end of the season and have shortlisted the Turkish international to strengthen their case.

It now remains to be seen how serious the two clubs become in their chase of the Fenerbahce man.

Nayir only signed for Fenerbahce last July but is yet to feature prominently for the Turkish giants.

All eyes will be on whether the forward makes the switch to the Championship this month.
