RB Leipzig technical director Mario Gomez has insisted that everyone is going to benefit from Timo Werner’s impending loan move to Tottenham Hotspur this month.

Tottenham have a deal in place to sign the former Chelsea striker on loan from Leipzig in the ongoing transfer window.

The forward is on the cusp of joining Spurs and the club also have an option to make the move permanent at the end of the loan stint.

Werner struggled in his previous stint in England with Chelsea despite winning the Champions League but he has been a bit part player at Leipzig this season.

Gomez stressed that it is a win-win deal for everyone as Tottenham have made it clear that the forward will play regularly once he completes the move.

He insisted that the Germany national team will benefit from Werner playing week-in-week-out as well and Leipzig will benefit from the forward rekindling his career in England.

The Leipzig technical director told German broadcaster Sport1 (via Fussball Transfers): “It’s a win-win situation for everyone.

“Germany benefits from this.

“We benefit from this because we get a player going.

“He will play regularly and that’s what Tottenham have conveyed to us.”

Werner scored 23 times in 89 appearances during his previous stint in England with Chelsea.
