Bayern Munich have been in direct contact with Tottenham Hotspur for Eric Dier, but the German outfit have yet to submit an official bid.

The 29-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Ange Posteoglou and the centre-back has featured only four times this season.

Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich tried to take Dier to Germany last summer, but a move failed to materialise.

The Bavarian outfit want to beef up their defence and have retained their interest in the Tottenham star.

It has been suggested that Dier has a verbal agreement in place with Bayern Munich to join them in the ongoing window.

Bayern Munich have established direct contact with Tottenham and have discussed the parameters of a potential permanent deal.

However, according to Sky Deutschland, the Bundesliga giants have yet to submit a bid to Spurs for Dier.

It is suggested the likely cost of the deal will come in at under €4m and Dier will pen a contract running until 2025.

Dier’s Tottenham contract is set to run out in the summer and Spurs will not want to lose him on free transfer.
