Tottenham Hotspur must convince Djed Spence to move to Genoa as part of a deal to sign Radu Dragusin, with the defender having been reluctant, according to ESPN.

Spurs are working hard to snap up Dragusin and the deal on the table for Genoa is worth €25m and €5m in bonuses.

It will also see full-back Spence head the other way on a loan deal, but work remains to be done on that front.

Spence has been reluctant to make the switch to Genoa, but talks are ongoing to convince him of the merits of a move.

The defender has just returned to Spurs following a loan spell at Championship side Leeds United and has been training with the Under-21s.

Eyebrows were raised in some quarters when Leeds triggered an option to send Spence back to north London this month.

Leeds have no replacement in the building, but decided they wanted to part ways with Spence.

All eyes are now on whether Spence will accept Genoa as a destination and try to get his career back on track in Italy.
